I’ve been served an eviction notice in the form of falling bombs and firing squads, so I flee with the most precious things I have and hold so dear to me. I risk it all so we might live another day. I place all hope upon a raft and pray we sail away.
Where will we go? What will become of my life and my loved ones? I say goodbye to all I know and take a leap into the unknown.
No empathy but I feel your contempt at another life just looking to live. You set me adrift time and time again as I search for new life to begin. Standing still is not an option I take seriously but the strength to move doesn’t come so easily at all.
Can’t keep me down, I’ll keep pushing. I’m not the headlines you read and hear, I’m just another person you’ve been conditioned to fear. I don’t want your job; I don’t want your wife. I don’t want your money and I don’t want your life. I just want to live free from persecution.
